About the Athletic Hall of Fame:
In the Fall of 1991, the Perry Pirate Booster Club authorized the formation of a Hall of Fame Committee to honor Perry Athletes by developing a process to create an Alumni Athletic Hall of Fame.

In March of 1992, Perry Public Schools’ Board of Education authorized the concept of the Perry Pirate Booster Club.  The Club selected a committee and developed the guidelines for how the Hall of Fame would be established.  The policies and procedures were approved by the Booster Club in the spring of 1992.

A committee and public nomination procedure was put into place during the fall of 1992. In January of 1993, 65 individuals qualified to be placed on a ballot for voting by the committee.  The first induction class of 21 former Perry athletes, coaches, or community contributors was selected in May of 1993 after receiving sufficient votes for induction. Those selected were then notified and their selection made public.Since its inception, the Hall of Fame committee has inducted a total of 121 athletes, administrators, coaches and two teams.

It is our hope that Perry’s Athletic Hall of Fame not only honors the accomplishments of our inductees, but also serves to inspire future Perry High students to aspire to the accomplishments of those Hall of Famers who have built the fine tradition of Perry Athletics.
